The K-TORK de-clutchable manual override gearbox “sandwiches” between the
valve and the actuator to allow the user to operate the valve or damper when
supply air is not available. The NAMUR topworks of the actuator remain
accessible for the mounting of limit switches or positioner. The gearbox can be
retrofitted to existing automated valves WITHOUT the need for additional
mounting brackets or modifications to the existing bracketry.
- Gearbox “free-wheels” when the actuator is in automatic mode. To operate
the gearbox, the worm gear is engaged and the actuator is vented to atmosphere
or to “closed-loop” system to prevent corrosives from entering the actuator
during the override cycle.
- The actuator may be removed for maintenance while the gearbox override
remains on the valve for manual operation.
- Constructed from rugged cast iron with hardened steel worm that rides
against a bronze sector gear.
- All units include two adjustable, mechanical position stops. The mechanical
stops are set just ahead of the actuator position stops so that over-torque
forces from the gearbox will not damage the actuator.
- All units are packed with HIGH-TEMPERATURE grease.
- Handwheel size selected to provide maximum 80-pound rim-pull.
